This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you use tooloora.com.
Note: This text was prepared with care but is not legal advice. Before going live — especially before showing ads — it should be reviewed by a lawyer and adapted to the actual operator details.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing is the operator named in the imprint. For privacy questions, please use the contact details given there.
2. Principle: processing in your browser
Most tools on tooloora.com (calculators, converters, text utilities) run entirely in your browser. The content you enter — such as text, amounts or files in the file converter — is not sent to our servers. Files never leave your device.
3. Server log files
When you access the website, the hosting provider (servers located in the European Union) automatically stores access data in server log files. This typically includes: the page requested, date and time, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system, and the IP address. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the secure and stable operation of the website. Logs are deleted or anonymised after a short period.
4. Cookies and local storage
- Language cookie (
tooloora_locale): remembers your chosen language. Technically necessary; legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. - Theme preference and tool inputs: stored in your browser's local storage so your settings and recent content are preserved. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time via your browser settings.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Where ads are shown, we use Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Before non-essential cookies are set, we obtain your consent through a consent solution (Google Funding Choices / Consent Management Platform) (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can choose between personalised and non-personalised ads and change your decision at any time. More information is available in Google's privacy policy.
6. Google Search Console
We may use Google Search Console to analyse the website's visibility in Google Search. This provides us with aggregated statistics that do not relate to individual people. No tracking of individual visitors takes place through this.
7. External data sources
The currency converter uses the daily reference rates of the European Central Bank. These rates are fetched on the server in the background — none of your personal data is transmitted to third parties in the process.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future.
9. Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data.
10. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the legal situation or our processing changes. The version published here applies.
