Higher levels stay readable when damaged or printed small — the code gets denser.

Dark modules on a light background scan most reliably.

More QR code types

An email QR code opens the scanner's mail app with the recipient — and optionally subject and message — already filled in. The person only has to press send. Perfect for feedback requests, support contacts and order inquiries. Enter the address below; subject and body are optional.

How does an email QR code work?

The code contains a mailto: link (RFC 6068) — the same standard behind clickable email addresses on websites. Subject and body travel as percent-encoded parameters, so umlauts and special characters arrive intact. Every phone opens its default mail app with the fields pre-filled.

What's a smart pre-filled subject?

Use the subject to route and sort incoming mail automatically: “Feedback table 7”, “Support request — Model X”, “Catalogue order”. A pre-filled body can include prompts (“My order number: …”) so replies arrive with the information you actually need.

How to create the code

  1. Enter the recipient address — optionally add a subject and a message template.
  2. Style the code if you like; the live preview updates instantly.
  3. Download (PNG for screens, SVG/EPS/PDF for print) and place it on receipts, packaging, posters or tables.

Frequently asked questions

Is the email sent automatically when scanned?

No. Scanning only opens the mail app with the fields pre-filled — the person always reviews the message and presses send themselves. Nothing happens without their action.

Are the address and message uploaded?

No. The mailto link is built entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server. The code contains exactly what you typed — and only that.

Do umlauts and special characters survive?

Yes. Subject and body are percent-encoded (UTF-8) following the mailto standard, so ä, ö, ü, ß and emoji arrive exactly as entered.

Can I leave subject or body empty?

Yes. Only the recipient is required. With just an address, scanning opens a blank message to that recipient.
