A location QR code opens the scanner's maps app directly at your coordinates — no address typing, no ambiguous place names. Perfect for event invitations, parking entrances, trailheads and meeting points that have no street address. Enter latitude and longitude below (find them with a long-press in Google Maps).
How does a location QR code work?
The code contains a geo: URI (RFC 5870) with decimal coordinates — for example geo:52.5163,13.3777 for Berlin's Brandenburg Gate. Phones open their default maps app at exactly that point, where the person can start navigation with one tap. Coordinates are unambiguous worldwide, unlike street addresses.
How do I find my coordinates?
In Google Maps, long-press the spot and the coordinates appear in the search bar (e.g. 52.51628, 13.37770). In Apple Maps, drop a pin and swipe up. Copy latitude (first number, −90…90) and longitude (second, −180…180) into the fields — a decimal comma works too.
How to create the code
- Find your coordinates (long-press in Google Maps) and paste latitude and longitude.
- Check the preview — invalid coordinates are rejected instead of producing a broken code.
- Download and add the code to invitations, signs or flyers.
